In the morning light of the Tibetan Plateau, thangka art has flourished for millennia—each stroke a manifestation of faith, every hue a crystallization of wisdom. Bruce Zhang's roots run deep in this sacred land, in Wutun Village of Huangnan Prefecture, where Tibetan children first pick up brushes to learn thangka painting as early as five or six years old. His childhood was spent traveling across Tibet with his silversmith grandfather, witnessing how craftsmanship nourishes life; his youth brought him into the tide of the internet and e-commerce, and through eight years at Alibaba, he grasped the essence of dialogue between technology and tradition.

In 2024, when he returned to his homeland with his daughter and saw young lamas' paintings piled high yet overlooked, memory and mission converged: A thangka should not be "discarded paper" gathering dust, but a beacon illuminating lives.
Thus, "Bodvani Thangka" was born—rooted in Bruce Zhang's Tibetan heritage and empowered by the commercial wisdom of the digital age. We believe every thangka is a perfect fusion of spiritual practice and artistry, and every artist deserves to be cherished by the world. Through e-commerce and brand empowerment, we bridge geographical and informational divides, ensuring fair compensation for lama painters and breathing modern vitality into ancient art.
